Crosston Dance Ball 2011 - Shire of Crosston (Santa Clara, CA)

Excess, Lechery, Debauchery, Lasciviousness! These are just a few terms used by the writer Simeon Zuccollo in 1549 to describe the (necessary?) evils of dance. Join us for the Crosston Ball, where we plan to understand M. Zuccollo's complaints, have a discussion both in favor and against his opinions, and determine for ourselves which side we are on!

A day of dance instruction led by our fabulous dance instructors will be followed by a potluck feast, culminating in a full evening of dance to live music on period instruments.  You can also learn more about dance at Wednesday dance practice on in Crosston.  Contact the autocrats for more information about dance practice.

Site Information:  Shoup Park Garden House. 400 University Avenue, Los Altos, CA, 94022

This is a donation event only, and such donations will gladly be accepted at the door. Please bring a dish to feed 5-6 people to share, and period dishes are preferred (though if cooking is not your strong suit, just come anyway!).

Site open: 10:00 a.m. for setup, and dance teaching begins at 1:00 p.m.  The feast begins at 5:00 p.m., the ball proper begins at 6:00 p.m., and the site closes at 10:00 p.m.

Autocrats: Vyncent atte Wodegate and Elisabeth de Kleer
